Choosing a session

GT Coach’s sessions come from GT7’s Sport Mode: Daily Race A, B and C, and the Online Time Trials. The app lists them as This Week’s Coaching Sessions. Each names a track, a car, and a lap time to chase, and comes with the reference lap the coach measures you against.

When GT7’s rotation moves on, we publish new sessions and retire the old. A retired session moves to Past Practice and is not coachable anymore; it’s only reviewable.

It is possible to drive outside of Sport Mode, but you’ll need to configure a race with the exact same settings, track layout and car BoP as the reference you’ve selected.

The race itself sets the rules here: Daily Races and Time Trials hold you to a specific car or a group (Gr.1, Gr.2, Gr.3, Gr.4, Gr.B). Any allowed car works with the reference lap, but it works best with the exact car the reference was set in: cars in the same class still brake and turn a little differently, so the closer your car is to the reference car, the more precisely the feedback you hear applies to you.
